Pneumatic System Self-Check for Filling Equipment: Three Points on the Air-Source Treatment Unit
Filling valves, cylinders and other pneumatic actuators on filling equipment are driven by compressed air. The air-source treatment two-unit assembly (filter-regulator + lubricator) on the machine panel is the standard pneumatic configuration.
Filling valves, cylinders and other pneumatic actuators on filling equipment are driven by compressed air. The combination of "filter-regulator + lubricator" (the air-source treatment two-unit assembly) on the equipment panel is the standard pneumatic system configuration — it is responsible for filtering the air supply clean, stabilizing pressure and supplying oil to downstream components for lubrication.
Daily inspection covers just three points:
1. Check the pressure reading: The regulator's common adjustment range is 0.5–9.0 kgf/cm². During operation, the pressure should be in the normal working range (e.g. 5–6 kgf/cm²). Abnormal fluctuations on the digital or mechanical pressure gauge indicate an air-supply issue that needs investigation.
2. Check the lubricator oil level: Oil visible in the cup → normal, downstream pneumatic components are being lubricated; oil depleted → top up promptly, otherwise cylinder wear will accelerate.
3. Check water accumulation in the filter cup: Water droplets in the cup → normal (moisture separated from the air supply), but when the water level rises it must be manually drained; if the cup overflows without draining, moisture will enter the cylinders and affect positioning accuracy.
Recommendation: For production lines with many pneumatic components, install a digital pressure gauge for real-time air-pressure monitoring so that anomalies are detected early.
