How to Configure a Filling Line for High-Viscosity, No-Particle Products Like Honey and Turmeric Paste

When filling high-viscosity, particle-free products such as honey, turmeric paste and syrup, the biggest problem is not that the product will not enter the bottle — it is stringing, dripping and flow break-up. Each time the valve opens and closes, the material draws out long strings and cannot retract cleanly, leaving the bottle mouth dirty and the net weight unstable.

Hebei Guangteng Machinery recommends a three-stage configuration logic for high-viscosity, particle-free filling lines:

1. Pump: Use a three-lobe rotor pump. Three-lobe rotor pumps deliver high-viscosity materials steadily with low shear. Running at low speed, they provide continuous, volumetric dosing for viscous fluids like honey and turmeric paste.

2. Valve: Use a blow-spray filling valve. The blow-spray valve is the key component for anti-stringing and drip-free operation — it cuts the material string when the valve opens and retracts cleanly when it closes, keeping the bottle mouth clean and the dose consistent. It is the standard valve type for high-viscosity, stringy products.

3. Cap: Match the capper to the cap material. Tinplate lids (can-style铁皮 lids) must use a tracking vacuum capper — vacuum first, then screw cap, meeting the sealing requirement. Plastic or other deformable caps can use a four-wheel capper. Important note: a four-wheel capper must never be used on tinplate lids — the squeezing force deforms them and produces rejects.

Throughput reference: A single-head automatic filling machine covers 0–50 bottles/min; at 20–30 bottles/min for a 500 ml bottle, the line performance is fully adequate (consult factory for specific model configuration).

Before selecting equipment, confirm two parameters first: bottle mouth thread / bottle diameter (the vacuum capper needs a matching lid pickup disc); and the actual product viscosity (for example, when concentrated honey reaches 50,000–100,000 cSt, the pipe diameter must be enlarged).
